Brigid - Patroness and Prophetess - Live Chat       with Sr. Mary Teresa Cullen

Wednesday, 3 February 2021

I spoke about Saint Brigit with the Catholic Brigidine nun Sr. Mary Teresa Cullen and our host Anne Cassidy Carew of the United Irish Cultural Centre of San Francisco. The event was hosted by Dowling Library at the UICC.

Sr. Mary Teresa, as then superior of the Brigidine Sisters of Ireland, lit the flame of Saint Brigit in the town of Kildare on 1 February 1993, as I had the honour of doing in a more NeoPagan environment on the same date in Vancouver, Canada. This was our first meeting.

A video of the Zoom chat is available on YouTube, here

Brigit as a Constant Companion "Watch Together"

26 December 2020
After the stress of the last year and in the wake of a public holiday, I wanted to invite people to spend time quieting their minds and bodies and join me in contemplation of Brigit. We watched together a video of a presentation I did earlier with Land, Sea, Sky Travel as part of the conference, Brigid: A Friend for Our Times.
"Brigit as a Constant Companion is an immersive, guided contemplation of Brigit, an invitation to slow right down and enter into a quiet, meditative awareness of her. In these chaotic times, slowing down with our goddess is both an act of devotion and a healing. It is my hope you will find something here to sustain you. Newcomers to Brigit, those not committed to her, are welcome.
"The contemplation begins with a body scan and silent meditation. For a brief period afterward I talked away with my mic off, until Vyviane suggested I turn it back on. She chose a good moment, and the contemplation proper is not interrupted. The entire recording is a little shy of eighty minutes, so you will want a comfortable place to sit or lie down, perhaps a blanket, and water to drink. You won't require any props, but may wish to bring two objects or images, one that reminds you of yourself and the other of Brigit. These may act as anchors for you, but aren't necessary."
The video is still available through my Facebook Page, Brigit's Portal. Click here to watch.
